There are many ways to be an active member of the New Jersey City University community. Based on your personal interests and goals, these activities help you to grow in many ways:

- Experience EASE. That’s Education, Advocacy, Support and Empowerment through the many programs and services offered by the Speicher-Rubin Women’s Center for Equity and Diversity. Events include the Women’s HerStory Month Luncheon, Lavender Graduation and Take Back the (K)Night.
Student Clubs and Organizations
A variety of clubs and organizations make up the Student Council, including cultural and ethnic groups and religious organizations. Membership is open to all NJCU students. Students can also apply to start a new club that matches your interests.

Mock Trial Team - Established in September 2017, the mock trial team competed for the very first time during the 2017/18 competition season and brought home the AMTA Spirit Award.
The Gothic Times
The Gothic Times student newspaper is printed five times a semester and distributed on campus. Student Media also maintains a website () and a student podcast. Follow us on social media on , and Twitter.
Special Events
NJCU Project Leadership
Co-sponsored by the Student Government Organization (SGO), this one-day conference held on campus during winter break helps remind students of their role as leaders and prepare them for the opportunities and challenges that may arise during Spring semester. NJCU Project Leadership is open to all NJCU student leaders, including Resident Assistants, SGO club and organization members, student staff from the Center for Student Success, and more.
Week of Welcome (WOW)
WOW is a four-day celebration welcoming students to the beginning of Fall semester. Students, faculty and staff are encouraged to show their pride for NJCU and its Gothic spirit throughout the week of educational and social events, which culminates in Campus/University Day.
Multicultural Month
Held in November, Multicultural Month celebrates the many cultures at NJCU, with each cultural organization hosting a program that highlights their unique culture and traditions.
