International Student Housing

Living @ NJCU

Housing is available to all students. Students can enjoy the opportunity to experience campus life, meet new people and learn in a multicultural environment outside the classroom. The residences are conveniently located close to classes, the library, the fitness center, and campus events. Why live on campus?

  • It eases the transition
Living on campus can ease anxieties about living in a new country. Our housing staff and students are welcoming and eager to help new students.
  • It's convenient and affordable
You'll live close to New York City, without the high living cost—and no worries about the time and expense of setting up an off-campus apartment.
  • You'll be safe
Residence halls are always staffed and require card access. Plus, the Department of Public Safety provides 24-hour campus security in the form of patrols and campus escort services
  • Get a built-in social network
You’ll get the full experience of campus life, meet new people, and learn in a multicultural environment outside the classroom.

The Student Residences offer Wi-Fi, 24 hour security, on-site laundry, study rooms and computer rooms. Campus housing residents are invited to participate in a variety of recreational programs offered by the Office of Residence Life.

Move-in
The International Office will update you on each semester's move-in dates. Please let us know your arrival plans in advance.

Off-campus housing
NJCU cannot assist you with finding housing outside of the university. Like any major city, Jersey City has good and bad areas. Although you are free to live anywhere, we strongly suggest that you live on campus during your first year so that you have time to learn about the Jersey City region.
