New Jersey City University’s Computer Science Department prepares students to do more than keep pace with the speed of technological advancement. We prepare our graduates to set the pace of technology, in the workplace or in graduate programs.

Programs in the Deborah Cannon Partridge Wolfe College of Education, at the undergraduate and graduate level, are accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education. All education programs are approved by the New Jersey State Department of Education.

Robert Noyce Scholarships for STEM Teachers

NSF scholarships and stipends will be awarded to NJCU STEM majors who are obtaining teaching certifications in their fields. Funds will be available to undergraduates for their junior and/or senior years, and post-baccalaureate STEM majors may receive one-year stipends to complete their teacher certification requirements.

Student Stephanie Abanilla, a senior in the Class of 2024 from Jersey City, N.J. and County Prep High School, presented her STEM Summer Research Internship outcome at the prestigious Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) International Conference on Machine Learning and Applications (ICMLA), on December 15, 2023, in Jacksonville, Fla.

This summer she was a research intern under the guidance of NJCU Computer Science Assistant Professor Moitrayee Chatterjee, Ph.D., as part of NJCU’s STEM Summer Research Internship, leading to her presentation this month.
