STEM Discovery Day

JERSEY CITY, N.J. | New Jersey City University (NJCU) will host a free STEM Discovery Day on Saturday, March 22, 2025, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the Science Building's 3rd and 4th floor laboratories on campus.

In celebration of New Jersey STEM Month, the College of Arts and Sciences invites the community to this free event for an exciting day of exploration and discovery on campus. The Discovery STEM day is designed for K-12 students and their families. Participants will engage with science through interactive exhibits and hands-on activities throughout the morning.

"This is a wonderful opportunity for young minds to experience the excitement of scientific discovery firsthand," said Dr. Vanashri Nargund-Joshi, NJCU Associate Professor of Biology and the NJ STEM Month 2020 Educator of the Year. "Our students and faculty have designed engaging activities that make complex STEM concepts accessible and fun for all ages. We are also excited to bring our partners from Hudson County Community College and Liberty Science Center to make students' learning experience even more STEMstatic."

Visitors will explore various aspects of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics through experiments, demonstrations, and learning stations. NJCU faculty members will be on hand to guide participants through activities designed to spark curiosity and foster interest in STEM fields, while bringing STEM concepts to life.

The event is free and open to the public. No registration is required. For more information, contact Dr. Nargund in the NJCU Biology Department at vnargund@njcu.edu or 201-200-3340.
